Stocks extend gains for third straight day
Stocks extended the winning streak for a third straight session on Wednesday amid increased participation of investors. The day's session opened on an upward trend and the benchmark equities index rose about 37 points within the first hour of trading, but most of the initial gains faded away during late hours due to selling pressure.
