Regulator to fast-track maiden commodity exchange launch
The BSEC is set to approve the draft rules of the country's maiden commodity exchange this month to fast-track the launching of the exchange. The final approval will, however, come from the regulator on receipt of public opinions. The Chattogram bourse will get the licence for the long-awaited commodity exchange by the end of this year, said an executive director of the BSEC. Page 9

Yoon to overhaul approach to harsh weather
South Korea's president vowed Monday to "completely overhaul" the country's approach to extreme weather from climate change, after at least 40 people were killed by recent flooding and landslides during monsoon rains. Pilot production of vannamei fry gets nod
The government has allowed for trial production of vannamei shrimp fry to meet the demand for quality post-larvae of the fish for cultivators. The Department of Fisheries on Thursday gave the green light, attaching some conditions. The trial cultivation will be done by Desh Bangla Hatchery in Khulna. Page 20
