Stocks end four-week losing streak
The benchmark equity index bounced back in the outgoing week, snapping a four-week losing streak, as smart investors put fresh bets on beaten-down stocks, pushing the turnover higher. Modi, Xi hold rare sitdown
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held "candid and in-depth" talks to ease tensions along their disputed frontier, Beijing said Friday, after a rare face-to-face encounter between the two leaders. Oil prices jump
Oil prices jumped more than 1 per cent on Friday as the dollar firmed. Brent crude rose 98 cents, or about 1.2 per cent, to $84.34 a barrel by 1315 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate crude was up 92 cents, also roughly 1.2 per cent, at $79.97. Page 15
