Dhaka to cancel wheat import tender
Bangladesh is scrapping an international tender to import 50,000 tonnes of wheat as it received only one offer to supply the grain that was too expensive, two officials from the state grains procurement agency said on Friday. Trading house Agrocorp was the only participant and the price offered was $548.38 a tonne CIF liner out in the tender, issued by the Directorate General of Food, the procurement agency. Page 15
Tigers taste 10-wicket defeat
Asitha Fernando finished with a career-best 6-51 as Sri Lanka thrashed hosts Bangladesh by 10 wickets in the second Test on Friday to win the series 1-0. Imran ended march to avert bloodshed
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday dismissed reports that a deal was made to end the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's much-hyped long march and said he decided to conclude the protest in order to avoid bloodshed.
