Bring Latif to book in 20 days: Hefajat to govt
Thursday, 2 October 2014
Hefajat-e-Islam Bangladesh on Thursday gave the government 20 days to bring Posts and Telecommunications Minister Abdul Latif Siddique to book for his anti-Islamic remarks. “Latif Siddique should be hung incorporating a legal provision of death sentence (in the relevant law) for atheists and non-believers for disparaging Islam. Or else, Muslims will be forced to take to the streets,” said Hefajat’s Dhaka city unit convener Moulana Noor Hossain Kashemi. Noor Hossain was addressing a demonstration organised at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in protest against Latif Siddique’s remarks, according to a news agency.
