Bringing Khulna city under digital watching

Internet Protocol Cameras (IPC) will be installed at 72 important points in Khulna to curb crimes in the south-western city by the end of this year. Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) have completed all preparations to set up the IPCs in the city by December, 2015, Additional Deputy Commissioner of KMP said on Wednesday afternoon. “We also have taken steps to distribute ‘Modern Secret Video Devices’ and ‘Special Detective Sunglass’ among the officials in a view to control crime in the city,” he said. A total of four IPCs have been set up at Picture Palace Intersection while other four IPCs have been set up at city's Sonadanga Bus Terminal area, official said. The remaining IPCs will be set up at Shibbari, Moylapota, Gallyamari, Royal intersections, Rail Station, Launch Terminal, Rupsha Ferryghat, Daulatpur, Khalishpur, Khanjahan Ali, Shiromony, Zero Point and other important places in the city, source said.
ADC Moniruzzaman Mithu said that KMP will set up 72 IPCs in the city and distribute huge 'Modern Secret Video Devices’ and 'Special Detective Sunglasses' among officials to bring the city under digital watching. ‘As part of digital monitoring, detective and special branch officials of KMP will get spy sunglasses. The officials will take video by this sunglasses’. They will also get pen camera, vehicles search mirrors, hand metal explosive detecting machines and get and counterfeit money detecting machines, he added, according to a news agency.
