Bringing the opposition to a dialogue
Monday, 2 February 2015
The ongoing political unrest is taking its toll on all businesses, small, medium or big. In the same way, students, farmers and others regardless of their class, status or profession, are passing through a hard time. Transport cost has gone up due to blockade. I work in a readymade garment factory and we cannot send our goods to the port due to the prevailing situation on the highways, which is costing us dearly with every passing day. It appears that the ruling party will get tougher as days go by and neutralise the movement of the opposition.
The government, of course, deserves thanks for restoring power in Khaleda Zia's Gulshan office. We all know that the ruling party has some veteran politicians in its ranks who are capable of reading the current situation correctly and guide the country properly. As common people, we always hope that they will instil some good sense in the minds of other leaders so that they shun this politics of confrontation and come back to the road of peace and dialogue. Undeniably, dialogue is the only way to mitigate the sufferings of the people and settle the political differences once and for all.
