'Britain likes to see free, fair polls sans emergency'

British Foreign and Commonwealth Office additional director Philip Barton Sunday said Britain would like to see a free, fair and inclusive parliamentary polls without state of emergency, reports UNB.
"We hope the government will lift the state of emergency and a free, fair and transparent polls will be held with participation of all parties," he told the journalists after a meeting with BNP secretary general Khondoker Delwar Hossain at his NAM flat in the city Sunday.
British High Commissioner Stephen Evans was present during the meeting that lasted for more than one hour from 11:30 am.
Asked about the BNP's 7-point demand, Barton hoped that the government would consider their logical demands.
