British Airways and Association of Travel Agents in Bangladesh (ATAB) have reached a mutually agreeable solution to the outstanding differences over travel agency remuneration payments, says a press release.
This agreement widens further the options for British Airways (BA) customers in Bangladesh as they now will be able to book their choice of flight and destination through a travel agent or directly with the airline over the phone, in the BA Sales Office or online at ba.com.
Expressing his satisfaction on this landmark accord, Mr Paul Beech, BA Manager Bangladesh said, "I am delighted to be dealing with the Bangladesh travel trade again, our direct flight to London is extremely popular and our customers now have even more choice as to where they can buy a BA ticket. Travel agents in Bangladesh have been overwhelmingly supportive in the past and I am looking forward to a healthy relationship with the trade in the months and years ahead." Paul also added "This deal is the right one, it reflects global changes in the way airlines do business with travel agents and it will allow our trade partners in Bangladesh the opportunity to realign their business model to become more profitable in today's hugely competitive market place."
