FE Report
British Airways (BA) and Elemis, a luxury British spa and skincare brand, announced a new agreement between the two UK brands.
The five-year deal sees Elemis taking over the running of BA's five current airport lounge spas in Heathrow's terminals 1 and 4 and New York JFK's terminal 7 and the supply of the in-flight club world amenity kits from October next.
The flagship spas will also be introduced within the airline's new terminal 5 at London Heathrow airport in March 2008.
Following more than a year of development, Elemis has exclusively designed BA spa-therapies for First, Club World and Gold Executive Club members travelling on long-haul flights. Elemis has created two levels of therapy. The departure offering will aid sleep and relaxation and the arrival treatments will re-awaken and energise the clients after their flight.
Clients will be able to enjoy a 15-minute well-being treatment on a state-of-the-art intelligent massage chair at the experienced hands of an Elemis therapist. Clients will be able to choose from a selection of four treatments including a face, foot, hand and scalp offering.
The in-flight amenity kits will contain Elemis Eyes Awake Recovery Gel, Pro-Coll Marine Cream, Lip Revive and Rehydrating Ginseng Skin Tonic as well as socks and eye-shades, ear-plugs, toothpaste and toothbrush.
British Airways' Brand and Service Manager Finola Lehane said: "We're delighted to welcome Elemis as our spa provider. Our clients will benefit from Elemis' extensive experience in producing top-quality skincare, both through treatments in the BA lounges and on-board via the amenity kits. Our two brands are synonymous with quality and luxury and we anticipate that our clients will be delighted with the new spa and amenity products."
Elemis Managing Director Sean Harrington said: "Elemis is exceptionally proud to be working with the BA. The synergy of the two British brands is exceptional, providing high standards of product offering, services and clients' care in a therapeutic environment, whether onboard or in the airport lounges. We are excited to have developed a totally unique travel spa that will provide travellers with a little time to relax and de-stress".
