British-Chinese co to invest $3m in Ishwardi EPZ

M/s Megatex Knitters (Pvt) Limited, a British-Chinese joint venture company, will invest US$3 million for setting up its unit and producing sweater items at Ishwardi Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
In this connection, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Megatex Knitters (Pvt) Limited at BEPZA Complex in the city Tuesday.
Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Md Moyjuddin Ahmed and General Manager of M/s Megatex Knitters (Pvt) Limited Chiu Wai Hay signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Brig Gen Jamil Ahmed Khan, Member (Engineering) M Mahbub Ul Alam, Member (Finance) AKM Mahabubur Rahman, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi and General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman were also present at the signing ceremony.
The company will also create employment opportunity for 2,162 persons including 35 foreign nationals.
