British co expanding its project in Dhaka EPZ

M/s FCI (BD) Co Ltd is going to expand its project in Dhaka Export Processing Zone (EPZ) soon.
The one hundred per cent foreign-owned company will enhance its production space with additional investment of 2.5 million US dollars. After the expansion, the total investment of the company will stand at 7.5 million dollars.
An agreement was signed in this connection between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s FCI (BD) Co Ltd at the BEPZA Complex in the city recently.
Member (Investment Promo-tion) of BEPZA Prashanta Bhushan Barua and Chief Operating Officer of M/s FCI (Bangladesh) Ltd Md Akhtaruzzaman signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Among others, BEPZA Member (Engineering) Md Farhad Uddin, General Manager (Investment Promo-tion) AZM Azizur Rahman, Manager (Industrial Rela-tions) Md Abdus Sobhan and Assistant Manager (Public Relations) Khadiza Parvin were also present on the occasion.
With the expansion, the company will also create a new job opportunity for additional 300 Bangladeshi nationals. At present 2,530 Bangladeshi and five foreign nationals are working in this unit.
