British Council CEO arrives today

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the British Council (BC) Martin Davidson CMG arrives in the city today (Tuesday) on a three-day visit to Bangladesh, said a BC release.
During the visit, Mr Davidson will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and offer BC's English language expertise to the work of the Access to Information (A2I) Programme of the government.
Mr Davidson will visit a climate change project of the Aila-affected communities where BC climate champion, Sareka Jahan, is educating young people about how to live with the impacts of climate change.
He will also meet members of British Council's youth leadership programme, Active Citizens, in Mongla who are working with their communities to address eve-teasing, illiteracy and early marriage.
The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has agreed to learn from Mr Davidson about the organisation's future and to discuss a partnership between BC and the government in teaching English across the country.
