British Council, Grameenphone to observe Tagore festival

British Council in collaboration with Grameenphone will observe Tagore festival in the country highlighting 'rediscovering Tagore'. The festival will be divided into two parts - dance drama 'Tasher Desh' and 'Tagore Fashion Show'. Dance drama 'Tasher Desh' will be held at Shilpakala Academy on April 22 and 'Tagore Fashion Show' at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on April 28. This was disclosed at a press conference at British Council conference room in the city Wednesday. Organisers said the performance of Tasher Desh will capture a unique fusion of Bangla and British influences in dialogue, dance, music and song while the fashion show will reveal the rarely celebrated influence of Tagore on fashion. Acting Director of British Council Bangladesh Matthew Knowles, Principal of Shadona Lubna Marium, Managing Director of Persona Kaniz Almas, Fashion Designer and Lecturer Emdad Haque, Dancer Choreogra-pher were present.
