British envoy inaugurates Square's 1st shipment to UK

British High Commissioner in Bangladesh Anwar Choudhury inaugurated the first shipment of Square manufactured pharmaceuticals for United Kingdom (UK) by receiving a token pack of products being shipped to UK from Square Group Chairman Samson H Chowdhury.
The British High Commissioner inaugurated this shipment when he visited Square Pharmaceutical's Kaliakoir facility at Gazipur recently.
Director (Trade and Investment) Kevin Ringham and other officials accompanied the British High Commissioner.
Samson H Chowdhury and other senior officials of Square Pharmaceuticals received the dignitaries.
Square Pharmaceuticals is the first company from Bangladesh to get the UK's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) certification and also the first to export pharmaceuticals to the United Kingdom.
The high commissioner and his entourage visited the manufacturing and quality assurance facilities of Square Pharmaceuticals and Square Cephalosporins Limited.
He was impressed by the level of manufacturing excellence at the plants and also expressed his satisfaction on the quality and commitments.
The first shipment contains two cardiovascular drugs.
The UK's MHRA certification of Square Pharmaceuticals followed by its first shipment of products to UK opened a new era in the history of Pharmaceuticals exports from Bangladesh. The certification will open the door for Pharmaceuticals exports to other European countries for Square and the company is actively pursuing the opportunity.
