LONDON, Dec 13 (AFP): Britain's Finance Minister (FM) Alistair Darling today welcomed the decision by the Federal Reserve and other central banks, including the Bank of England, to inject cash and confidence back into tight eurozone money markets.
Speaking to The Guardian daily, Chancellor of the Exchequer Darling said the decision "was both necessary and very welcome."
Darling, who The Guardian said had been in constant touch with Bank of England Governor Mervyn King, added that central banks were ready to intervene again: "Most people believe this will take some time to work through."
