BRRI course on genetic theory

An international training course on Genetic theory of hybrid rice breeding has begun at hybrid rice centre of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur Monday. BRRI and Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) jointly organised the training programme with a view to add new dimension hybrid rice and seed production activities in Bangladesh, said a press statement. Total 25 scientists and officers from BRRI and private seed companies are taking part in the two-week course. Director general of BRRI Dr MA Mannan attended inaugural session of the training course as the chief guest, while project director of HyBried Rice Project of BRRI Dr ASM Masuduzzaman presided over. Director (research) of BRRI Dr Md Khairul Basar, director (admin) Dr Md Saidul Islam and hybrid rice expert of China Dr Huanq Zhiyuan were present as the special guests on the occasion. - Statement
