BRTA to gloss over fdrivers' poor education, issue licences

The authorities have decided to issue genuine licences to thousands of fake drivers in the city compromising on the minimum requirement of their educational background.
The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), the country's lone driving licence issuance authority, took the decision on Sunday after a meeting with CNG transport owners and drivers association.
Representatives from the metropolitan police commissioner and Dhaka Transport Coordination Board were present.
BRTA called the meeting as the association has been lobbying for the demand on the ground that the helper-turned-drivers have already learned the driving skills, but they could not get the authenticated licences
