BRUR holds meeting with students to prevent ragging

RANGPUR, July 28 (BSS): A views-exchange meeting of the Vice- chancellor (VC) with students was held on Tuesday at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) to ensure a ragging-free and educational environment in the campus.
The Office of the Students Affairs organised the event on the third floor of the university cafeteria.
BRUR VC Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali attended the meeting as the chief guest with Director of the Office of the Students Affairs Professor Dr Md Elias Pramanik in the chair.Proctor of the university Professor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman was present as a special guest at the event.
Class Representatives of the 17th and 18th batches of all 22 departments under six faculties of the university participated in the meeting.
In his speech, Prof Showkat Ali said that ragging is an inhuman and punishable crime. There is no place for any kind of ragging, mental harassment or discriminatory behavior in the university.
"Students have to play the biggest role in ensuring a safe, friendly and inclusive learning environment for new students in the university campus," he said.
