BSD protests withdrawal of common river waters

RANGPUR, Feb 19 (BSS): Leaders of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) today strongly protested unilateral water withdrawal of the 54 common international rivers, including Teesta, by India and demanded due share of waters.
The BSD leaders were addressing a rally on Rangpur Press Club premises before starting the Teesta Road March, organised by Rangpur and Rajshahi divisional units of the party, towards the Teesta Barrage Project (TBP) situated at Dalia in Nilphamari.
On its way to the TBP from Rangpur, the leaders also addressed roadside rallies at Paglapeer, Taraganj, Gonjipur, Barovita, Kishoreganj and Tengonmari. The programmed ended in a rally at Jaldhaka in Nilphamari.
Member of the central working committee of the BSD Comrade Shubhrangshu Chakraborty, its Rajshahi divisional organiser comrade agriculturist Obaidullah Musa and central leader Comrade Manjur Alam Mithu addressed the rally here.
Rangpur District BSD Coordinator Comrade Anwar Hossain Bablu presided over the rally in Rangpur, also addressed by its local leader Polash Kanti Nag.
Earlier, a huge rally, participated by central leaders of the BSD with hundreds of its local leaders, activists and common people, was brought out in the city protesting unilateral water withdrawal of the 54 common international rivers by India.
In addition to the central leaders, BSD district coordinators Comrade Rezaul Islam Sabuz (Dinajpur), Comrade Tarikul Alam (Panchagarh), Comrade Shamsul Alam Dudu (Bogra), Comrade Mohir Uddin (Kurigram), Comrade Abbas Ali (Nilphamari) and Ahsanul Arefin Titu addressed the last rally at Jaldhaka.
