BSD threatens hartal if energy prices hiked

NARAYANGANJ: General secretary of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) Khalequzzaman on Friday threatened to call a hartal if the prices of power and gas are hiked.
He said this while addressing a rally on the Shahid Minar premises at Chashara Intersection in the city, marking the 34th founding anniversary of BSD.
He observed that the government’s recent move to hike the prices of power and gas is illogical and aimed at amassing wealth by cutting the people’s pockets.
Presided over by district unit SPB convener Nikhil Das, the rally was also addressed by SPB central leaders Bazlur Rashid Firoz, according to a news agency.
