BSEC Bhaban fire under control

A fire that broke out at Karwan Bazar's BSEC Bhaban, which houses several news media units, is under control, Fire Service and Civil Defence Director General Ali Ahmed Khan has said. No report of any casualty has come in and firemen believe no one is trapped inside. Fire service control room said the 10-storey building caught fire just before noon on Friday. Fifteen fire-fighting units doused the flames after over two hours of frantic efforts. Television footage showed smoke belching out of the building's top floor and fire-fighters trying hard to tame the flames. Private channel RTV's Chief News Editor Lutfor Rahman said their channel went off the air temporarily after the fire, according to bdnews24.com.
