The top officials of the securities regulator will meet the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (Wednesday) following a reception arranged to honour the regulator's performance, officials said.
The officials of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) have said the BSEC chairman, four members, all executive directors and other senior officials will attend the reception ceremony arranged at Prime Minister's Office-Chameli House.
The reception ceremony will start at 10.30 pm.
"The Prime Minister has arranged the reception following the BSEC's performance in securing 'A' grade from the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). The Finance Minister AMA Muhith will also attend the reception ceremony," said a BSEC commissioner.
The BSEC signed the IOSCO memorandum of understanding (MoU) on December 22, 2013 and thereby elevated to the highest grade-Appendix A-from the previous Appendix B.
Before getting 'A' grade, the securities regulator had to fulfill some requirements through several reforms.
