A Bangladeshi young man was beaten to death allegedly by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Benapole under Sarsa Upazila in Jessore early Saturday. The identity of the deceased, aged around 35, could not be known immediately. Alauddin, in-charge of Putkhali camp of BGB-23, said a group of BSF troops from Angrail camp chased off a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders and caught one of them while they were returning to the country through Putkhali border point of Benapole union with cattle. Later the BSF men beat up the Bangladeshi cattle trader mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot and dumped the body near Charer Math along the border. Being informed by locals, police and BGB recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital for autopsy. A letter was sent to BSF protesting the killing, according to UNB.
