BSF hands over 75-bigha BD land to BGB

Ending their 66 years of illegal occupancy over 75-bigha Bangladeshi land along Benipur border in Jibannagar upazial of Chuadanga, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed it over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). BGB took over charge of the land from BSF on Friday, and they handed over the lands to farmers of the area later on Saturday. Director of Chuadanga-6 BGB, Lt Col SM Moniruzzaman at a press conference at Benipur border on Saturday said about 75 bigha (1 bigha = 33 decimal) Bangladeshi land, including 65-bigha khas land and10-bigha private land, had been under Indian occupation since 1949, according to a news agency.
