BSF kills Bangladeshi cattle trader, farmer

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 9 (UNB): A Bangladeshi farmer was shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Simnagar border in Shibganj Upazila Saturday.
The victim was identified as Manirul Haque (25), of Tarapur Mollapara in the upazila.
Local sources said that the BSF personnel from Doulatput outpost in Malda district opened fire on Manirul when he was working at his field on border village at about 7:00 am, killing him on the spot.
Local BDR commander Zaed Hossain confirmed the incident and condemned the unprovoked BSF action.
Another Bangladeshi cattle trader was beaten to death by the members of Indian Boarder Security Force (BSF) along Indian Goga border Saturday.
The victim was identified as Hazrat Ali (30), son of Jahur Ali of Harishchandrapur village under the port thana.
BDR and local sources said that the BSF personnel from Pipli outpost beat Hazrat Ali mercilessly while he was returning from India with cattle, leaving him dead on the spot.
