Wednesday, 3 October 2007

A Bangladeshi cattle-trader was gunned down by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Sonadanga frontier village in Sapahar upazila under Naogaon Tuesday. Sources said, BSF from Mollikpur camp opened fire on Maidur Rahman (22) of Moynakuri village near no-man's-land around 6:00 am, as he was heading towards India. He died on the spot. The Indian border guards then took away his body. When contacted, the BDR officials said, there was gunfire along the border, but could not confirm any killing in the firing. BDR's Khanjanpur Camp sent a letter to BSF's Mallikpur Camp protesting the gunfire. —UNB
