BSF pick up Bangladeshi from Naogaon border

India's Border Security Force (BSF) personnel arrested a Bangladeshi from Nitpur border point under Porsha Upazila in Naogaon district on Tuesday afternoon. The arrestee is Omar Ali, 42, son of Niaz Uddin, a resident of Nitpur Diarapara village. Subedar Harunur Rashid, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-14, said a group of BSF troops from Harishchandrapur camp chased Niaz as he entered the Indian territory illegally for catching fish from Dara Beel in the border area in the afternoon. At one stage, the BSF men captured Omar Ali and dragged him into India. BGB said they had sent a letter to BSF for holding a flag meeting for return of the Bangladeshi fisherman, according to a news agency.
