BSF returns body of Bangladeshi farmer

CHUADANGA, July 25 (UNB): Indian Border Security Force (BSF) Thursday returned the body of the Bangladeshi farmer who they killed at Nimtala border in Damurhuda Upazila early Wednesday.

BSF handed over the body of Rakibul Islam, son of Babar Ali of Sultanpur village of the upazila, to Bangladesh Rifles through a company commander level flag meeting.

BSF troops from Gede border in India opened fire on Rakibul Islam, killing him on the spot when he went to his cropland near the main pillar of the border. Later, the Indian border guards took away the body.

BDR personnel sent a letter to their Indian counterparts demanding immediate return of the body.
