BSF shoots BD national to death

CUMILLA, Jun 9 (UNB): A 50-year-old Bangladeshi man has been shot to death by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Burichang border in Cumilla.
The dead, Mohammad Anwar Hossain, was a resident of Mirpur village at Bakshimul union and the son of the late Charu Miah.
Local Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Karim said Anwar was shot by the BSF at the Jamtala border around 8:30 am on Sunday. "His body remains near the barbed wire fence," Karim said, noting that Anwar went to the border to 'illegally bring sugar.'
