BSF ‘kills’ two Bangladeshis

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Apr 16 (UNB): Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly tortured two Bangladeshi young men to death on Fatehpur border in Shibganj upazila of the district on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Sharif (25), son of Golap, a resident of Kharial village, and Mohammad Hakim (38), son of Saheb Ali, a resident of Tarapur Thuthapara village of the upazila.
Local sources said BSF troops of Sabghati camp picked up the duo on Tuesday night while a group of people including Sharif and Hakim were returning home from India with cattle.
They then tortured the duo and left them near the border in a critical condition.
Local people spotted the body of Hakim and found Sharif lying in a critical condition on Wednesday afternoon and informed members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) of the matter.
Later, the border force recovered the body of Hakim and rescued Sharif and sent him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injures.
