BSFIC starts selling sugar

The Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) has started selling sugar as part of its move to supply better quality local product to the consumers ahead of Ramadan month, reports BSS.
"Sugar is now being sold from the country's 15 sugar mills aiming to supply sugar at a rate fixed by the government," said an industries ministry press release issued in Dhaka on Tuesday. t said, each metric tonne of sugar is being sold at Tk 60,000.
As per the press release, sugar will also be supplied to the dealers registered under the corporation.
Each one-kg packet of sugar will be sold at Tk 65 at super shops like Agora, Shwapno, Meenabazar, CSD and Pran in the capital.
The sugar packets will be also available on the basement of Sugar Industries Bhaban in Dilkusa of the capital.
Besides, the BSFIC will also monitor the market so that consumers can buy sugar at a fair price.
