BSTI files cases against 25 brickfields

BSTI filed cases against 25 brickfields and six food producing industries with the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court of Comilla on Sunday for violating the BSTI Ordinance. The cases have been filed following a drive in Comilla Sadar (South), Laksam, Nangolkot and Chouddagram upazilas by the BSTI, Chittagong branch, says a BSTI press release. Among the six food producing industries, five are situated in Laksam while one in Comilla Sadar (South). BSTI’s assistant director (CM) KM Hanif, field officer (CM) M Mostak Ahmed and field officer (CM) M Delwar Hossain conducted a three-day drive from January 28. They visited 50 brick fields and ten food producing industries of Comilla Sadar (South), Laksam, Nangolkot and Chouddagram, according to a news agency.
