BSTI fines food shop in city

A team of Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Monday fined Sauslys Foods and Bakery Tk 55,000 for various irregularities during a raid in the capital's Banani area.
The BSTI fined the food outlet in two cases under BSTI Act, 2018.
Executive magistrate of BSTI Mohammad Hasib Sarcar led the drive at different shops in the area.
The BSTI team found that the Sauslys Foods and Bakery was preparing and marketing sponge cake, white cake, garlic and sandwich without taking Certification of Marks (CM) license from BSTI. So it faced a fine of Tk 25,000.
