BSTI fines seven business houses

RAJSHAHI, Jun 6 (BSS): A mobile court of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) fined seven dishonest business establishments Tk 3,300 in Rajshahi town Tuesday.
According to the BSTI sources, as part of the ongoing drive against adulteration in food items and cheating of consumers in weight, measurement and quality, the mobile court led by Metropolitan Magistrate SM Fazlul Karim raided different petrol pumps and grocery, hardware and cosmetics shops at Shalbagan, Nawdapara, Sheroil, Bhadra and Talaimari markets and found the establishments involved in the said offences.
The court subsequently filed seven separate cases against the offenders. However, all the cases were disposed of with realisation of Tk 3,300 as fine on the spot.
