BSTI logo on weigh machines mandatory

The government is going to make Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) logo mandatory on weigh machines and scales to ensure consumers rights. The decision came at the 29th council meeting of BSTI at its head office with Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu in the chair. An official familiar to the process has said that a gazette notification in this regard will be published soon. Weigh machines without BSTI logo will not be allowed across the country after publication of the gazette, the official said, according to a news agency.
