BTRC fines Bangla Phone

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) fined Bangla Phone, a private land phone operator, Tk 20.0 million for failing to comply with the conditions set for issuance of licence. "We have fined the company as it has failed to meet the roll-out plan, a prime condition of the licence, despite giving reminder several times, a senior official of the BTRC told the FE. When asked, a BTRC official said they will also penalise other companies who are allegedly failing to act as per guidelines. —FE Report
