BTRC fines pvt land phone co

Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has realised Tk 40 million (4.0 crore) as fine from GEP Telecom, a private land phone operator, because of its failure to meet the roll out plan. According to the licensing conditions, a private telecom network operator has to roll out a minimum of 20,000 connections in the first two years of its operation. —FE Report
