Buddha Purnima, the biggest religious festival of the Buddhist Community, was observed in the country Tuesday.
Buddha Purnima is a festival that marks Gautam Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and death. It falls on the day of the full moon in May, according to a news agency.
Different Buddhist organisations celebrated the day with various programmes. The day was a public holiday.
Newspapers brought out special articles while Bangladesh Betar and TV channels aired special programmes highlighting the significance of the day.
