Budget prepared for economic emancipation of people: Nasim
Saturday, 7 June 2014
Awami League Presidium Member and Health Minister Mohammad Nasim said in the city Friday the budget has been prepared for economic emancipation of the people, reports BSS.
The budget would help build a happy, prosperous and welfare-oriented country, he added.
Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua termed the budget 'positive' and said it would help flourish an independent economy in Bangladesh.
The new budget has all components required for industrialisation in the country, he said.
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Mujahidul Islam Selim and General Secretary Syed Abu Zafar Ahmed opposed keeping scope for legalising back money in the budget.
Ganotantri Party General Secretary Nurur Rahman Selim said implementation of the proposed budget is possible, if it is made corruption-free.
There could have been more importance to agriculture and education sectors, he added.
Leaders of different political parties said the proposed budget for fiscal year (FY) 2014-15 is time-befitting and pro-people.
Talking to the news agency, some of the leaders, however, feared that full benefit could not be derived from the budget, if problems remain in implementation strategies.
