Budget session begins tomorrow

The police authorities imposed a ban on carrying firearms, explosives and other harmful materials and on any kind of gatherings, processions, rallies and demonstrations around Sangsad Bhaban from Wednesday midnight as the budget session of the 9th parliament begins tomorrow (Thursday), reports UNB.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner AKM Shahidul Haq declared the restrictions for ensuring "peace and discipline" in and around the parliament house in order to go the 2nd session of the current parliament "uninterrupted".
The restricted areas are: Mohakhali crossing of Mymensingh Road to Bangla Motor crossing via Old Airport, western part of Bangla Motor Link Road to SAARC Fountain on Sonargaon Road, eastern part of Panthapath to Farmgate via Green Road Link Road, Shyamali Cinema Hall of Mirpur Road to Dhanmondi 16 (old 27) Link Road, Rokeya Sarani Link Road to Bijoy Sarani Parjatan Crossing via old 9th Division (airplane) Crossing, eastern part of Indira Road to Manik Miah Avenue western part and restricted area of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and all the roads and lanes in the area.
"The ban will remain in force until the conclusion of the second session of parliament," a DMP announcement said Tuesday.
The national budget will be placed in parliament on June 11. The budget size is envisaged to be over Tk 1,000 billion.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith would place the newly elected Awami League-led Grand Alliance government's first budget with the theme slogan 'Wind of Change'.
