BUET Entrepreneurs Network launches BUETEN Summit 2026

The BUET Entrepreneurs Network (BUETEN) has announced its flagship event, the BUETEN Summit 2026, to be held on January 23 and 24 at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) campus in Dhaka. Organised under the tagline "Connect. Innovate. Lead.", the summit will bring together BUET alumni, industry leaders, and aspiring entrepreneurs to foster innovation and collaboration within Bangladesh's technology and engineering sectors.
The BUET Entrepreneurs Network is dedicated to connecting entrepreneurs for their success and making a greater impact for the Bangladesh economy. Graduates of BUET are globally recognised for their technical expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, with alumni making significant contributions to various industries worldwide. BUET has established itself as a premier engineering institution, and its alumni network spans across multiple continents and sectors. This summit aims to leverage that collective strength and experience, creating a platform for knowledge sharing and mentorship that will empower the next generation of Bangladeshi innovators and entrepreneurs.
The two-day event will commence with an Opening Ceremony on Day 1 at 3:00 pm, followed by a series of seven comprehensive panel discussions designed to address critical challenges and opportunities across multiple engineering disciplines. The panels will explore: "EEE Entrepreneurs: Opportunities and Challenges in Bangladesh and Beyond"; "From Vendor Locked Situation to Sustainable Maintenance in ICT Sector"; "Build Your Future: An Entrepreneurial Roadmap for Civil Engineers"; "Women Engineers in Entrepreneurship: Exploring Opportunities and Breaking Barriers"; "Embracing Innovation: AI, Global Influence, and the Growing Competence of Bangladeshi Architects"; "Policy Roadmap for Indigenous Machinery Manufacturing and Reducing Import Dependency"; and "Local Talents, Global Networks - Leveraging BUET Alumni for High-Tech Outsourcing".
These discussions will bring together industry veterans and successful entrepreneurs who will share insights on navigating sector complexities, identifying opportunities, and building sustainable businesses. A Success Stories Session on Day 1 evening will feature established entrepreneurs sharing their experiences and lessons learned from their entrepreneurial journeys.
A Business Idea Competition, organised by the BUET Entrepreneurship Development Club, will take place on Day 2 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the auditorium. This competition will provide students and early-stage entrepreneurs with an opportunity to present innovative concepts to a panel of industry experts. The competition aims to identify and nurture promising business ideas that could contribute to Bangladesh's economic growth and foster entrepreneurial talent within the BUET community.
Throughout both days, Business and Innovation EXPO will run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm across the BUET campus, serving as a networking hub where participants can engage with industry professionals and establish meaningful connections. Regular networking sessions are scheduled to facilitate informal discussions and relationship building.
The summit will conclude on Day 2 with a Closing Session at 7:00 pm, followed by a Cultural Event and Dinner from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, providing participants with an opportunity to reflect on insights gained and strengthen bonds within the BUET entrepreneurial community.
The BUETEN Summit 2026 represents a significant milestone for the BUET Entrepreneurs Network and underscores the role of BUET alumni in driving economic growth and technological advancement in Bangladesh. The event is supported by the BUET Alumni and the BUET Graduate Club Limited, with the BUET Career Centre and BUET Entrepreneurship Development Club as organising partners.
