Bullet fired from JL leader\\\'s gun pierces little girl

A bullet 'accidentially' came out from the pistol of a Jubo League leader and critically injured a minor girl who was playing nearby in Savar Upazila of Dhaka district on Tuesday. The victim, 9-year-old Mahima Akhter, a fourth-grader at Sunflower Model Academy of the area, was rushed to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar town. Mahima’s father Mizanur Rahman said: ‘Mahima was playing with her friends at a field adjacent to our house. Suddenly, she started crying loudly in pain when the incident was discovered.’ Locals said Abu Nasim Pavel, Organising Secretary of Jubo League central committee, ‘mistakenly fired from his pistol’ and the bullet hit Mahima who was playing nearby. Echoeing them, Naznin, the younger sister Abu Nasim Pavel, claimed that her brother accidentally triggered his licensed pistol while cleaning it when the incident took place. Assistant Superintendent of Police Shafiqul Islam said police had already inspected the place. However, no is filed yet, according to a news agency.
