Burdwan blast: 3 \\\'Rohingya militants\\\' held in city

Detectives arrested three suspected Rohingya militants along with huge explosives from different parts of the city Sunday night in connection with the Burdwan bomb blast in West Bengal, India, reports UNB.
The arrestees are Md Nur Hossain alias Rafiqul Islam(26), Yasir Arafat (22) and Omar Karim.
Based on the information exchanged between intelligence agencies of Bangladesh and India over the Burdwan bomb blast, a special DB team conducted a drive at Atimkhana crossing in Lalbagh area around 9:25 pm and arrested the three suspected militants. They recovered five detonators, two bombs and 100 grams of explosive substances from their possessions.
Briefing reporters at the media centre of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Monday, Deputy Commissioner (DB) Krisnapad Roy said the trio came to Bangladesh from Myanmar illegally and got involved in militant activities in Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT).
They are all Myanmar nationals and were active members of various Rohingya organisations, including RSO, GRC, ARO and Rohingya Units for Human rights, DC Krishna said.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they consider Myanmar national Khaled Mohammad alias Abdur Nur, involved in the Burdwan blast, as their Guru.
Replying to a question, he said the arrestees were also involved in the activities of the banned Islamic outfit JMB.
Two cases were filed with Lalbagh police station in connection with the incident.
Earlier on November 8, West Bengal police arrested the main accused in the case, Sajid.
On October 2, an explosion at a Burdwan house killed two suspected militants-Shakil Ahmed and Sobhan Mandal-and left one, Hasan Saheb, injured.
