Bureaucracy shuffled

The government on Monday gave 14 joint secretaries to new postings and made some of them its project directors. Public administration ministry in 2 separate gazette notifications says: Sheikh Yousuf Harun, joint secretary of education ministry has been made director general of Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) while officer on special duty (OSD) joint secretary Mollah Jalal Uddin has been sent to the education ministry as joint secretary. Md Amzad Ali of LGRD and Cooperatives ministry has been sent to the ministry of religious affairs in the same post while Manik Chandra Dey has been made joint secretary at the banking and financial institution division. Abul Kashem Md Badrul Majid, joint secretary of the Roads and Bridges Division has been posted to LGRD and Cooperatives ministry while Bangladesh Muktijoddha Kalyan Trust Secretary Manik Lal Banik has been given Majid’s post. The other bureaucrats who were given new posts include OSD joint secretary Md Mohiuddin Khan, Barind Multipurpose Development Authority Executive Director Abul Kalam Azad, Petrobangla Director Md Rafiqul Islam, Family Planning Department Director Hari Prasad Paul, OSD joint secretary Anis-ul-Haque Bhuyian, Bangladesh Sericulture Development Board (BSDB) Director General Swapan Chandra Paul, OSD joint secretary Gopal Krishna Bhattacharya and Abu Rayhan al-Biruni.
