Burglary at two city business houses

Suspected burglars broke into two business houses in the city's Fakirapool area at Motijheel Wednesday night and stole about Tk 1.95 million (19.50 lakh) in cash, police said, quoting the victims. They said the burglars entered the closed offices of Akash Travel Agency and Oriental Courier Services on the DIT Extension Road at Fakirapool by breaking open the locks and stole the money from cash boxes. Police began investigation but no arrest was made as yet. Monsur Ahmed Kalam of Akash Travel Thursday said he along with his employees found the locks broken when they came to reopen the office in the morning. — UNB
