Burimari now a full-fledged landport

LALMONIRHAT, Apr 9 : The long-standing demand of businessmen to turn Burimari customs station into a full-fledged landport was fulfilled with the formal opening of its activities Friday.
With the start of formal journey of the landport, Bangladesh’s trade volume with India, Bhutan, Nepal and China by road will increase, report agencies.
Besides, it will boost the country’s revenue income to a great extent.
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan formally inaugurated the landport.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Motahar Hossain, Acting Shipping Secretary Abdul Mannan Hawlader, Chairman of Bangladesh Land Port Authority AKM Yahya Chowdhury and former lawmaker Moshiur Rahman Ranga, among others, were present on the occasion.
