Buro plans TK 50m micro-credit for flood victims

Buro, a leading micro-finance organisation of the country, has decided in principle to disburse micro-credit amounting to Tk 50 million (5.0 crore) among the flood victims on relaxed terms for their quick rehabilitation.
The organisation has already started massive relief operation in the flood-affected areas of Tangail, Manikganj and Faridpur. Part of its flood relief operations has been supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Under the programme, Buro distributed relief in three unions of Tangail district in the first phase.
Besides, it has also sought a relief fund amounting to TK 100 million from different donor organisations to conduct its relief operations.
