Bus counter set ablaze as bus hit MP's car

GAZIPUR, Dec 4 (UNB): Jubo League activists went berserk at Boronagar on Kaliganj bypass as a bus hit the car of Begum Meher Afroz Chumki MP, at Taltia in Kaliganj Upazila Saturday morning.
They vandalised a bus of Chalanbeel Paribahan and also set fire to a bus counter at Boronagar on Kaliganj bypass road at around 10.ooam.
Sources said, a Dhaka-bound bus of Chalanbeel Paribahan from Bhairab hit the car carrying Meher Afroj Chumki MP of Gazipur-5 constituency while she was going to attend a programme in her area.
Although her car was damaged in the accident she escaped unhurt.
Agitated activists of Jubo League blocked the Tongi-Ghorashal regional highway for an hour soon after the incident.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
