Bus fire burns driver in city

A bus on Wednesday afternoon caught fire in the city's Shahbagh area leaving its driver burnt.
The vehicle of Midway service on way to Moha-mmadpur from Khilgaon suddenly caught fire at 12.10 pm in front of Aziz Super Market.
Receiving the information, three units of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) rushed to the spot and doused the blaze at 12.40 pm, the duty officer at the fire control room told the FE.
"The fire might have ignited due to mechanical fault in the bus," he said.
The bus driver, Atik Molla, 42, who received burn, was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) burn unit.
No casualty was reported as the passengers rushed out of the vehicle after the fire ensued, witnesses said.
Earlier, another bus caught fire on December 13 at Moghbazar Flyover.
